harrypotterconfessions:

 It’s HPPS.

No, it isn’t HPSS.

If the American fandom really loved all things British as they say they do, they’d buy copies with the real title and call it such. And it’s not just about that. Book titles are desperately important, and the point is that Wizards in HP are used as an analogy for the rest of us - yes it’s magical and fantastic, but the reason we love the characters so much is because they’re so real. Dumbledore is a philosopher, Snape is, Hermione is, Ron, Harry, Draco, Voldemort, Slughorn, Petunia, Dudley, from the smallest to the biggest character, they all sturggle with the question of good and evil. It’s more complicated than just Wizards, or ‘Sorcerers’.

I hate it when people do this! It’s not our flipping fault they thought it had to be dumbed down for us! I wish they hadn’t! But you know what? Maybe not everyone is able to buy British, or the “real” version of Harry Potter. We’re all fans, aren’t we? It doesn’t’t really matter! Sure, the British version is the original, but just because they changed it for us doesn’t necessarily mean we like it. It’s really NOT that big of a deal!
